Kenedy is in his second term of Senior 5, which is the first year of the 2-year A level studies at a school in Arua, which we knew from the start was not a great school, but it was all we could afford and get him into at the last minute due to late exam results for his O levels. On Wednesday 24th july I travelled to Arua from Kampala on the GaaGaa 'day' bus and returned the same day on the night bus. A total of 17-hours on a bus; about 1-hour on Boda Bodas; 4-hours with Kenedy and a couple of hours resting. I visited Kenedy at school and I was made welcome by the deputy principle, but it was only when I took Kennedy out for a meal that I learnt of the difficulties there. The school is far worse than we could have imagined. This term food was not regular, he has only had one lesson with his Maths 2 tutor and the week that I visited all the teachers were on strike. Kenedy is coming here for the August September holiday and we will try and get him a suitable place in a better school local to here on a day basis to save cost by him living at home with me.
Kenedy hopes to train as a pilot flying with a missionary organisation. If you are able to sow into Kenedy helping with school fees for a better school please use the Donate facility or if you are a UK tax payer the Gift Aid donation form on this page and state the purpose as 'Kenedy School' Every penny donated will go toward supporting Kenedy nothing is deducted for administration. I took Kenedy to the White Castle Hotel for a meal where these pictures were taken.
